Patrick Scott Hogg - * Extinction of MAN: Nuclear Winter

Water in crystal goblets form br Fall into a silky sea br Effervescent rays spread out br Atoms pulse through me br br Autumnal sky and big red moon br Harbingers of portent br Wings of Heaven darkly fall br The Sun’s last rays augment. br br Brightly burning is the light br Flashes from pole to pole br Shadows scorch upon the earth br Long the Darks Days roll. br br Nuclear Winter breezes blow br Dreams, ambition’s dead: br Hell beyond redemption comes br Destruction’s Hydra head. br br No heart to hope or weep again br No joys untold or fame; br The last breath extinguished br No one left to blame. br br The sweeter kiss of Peace’s brow br Holds only dust and sand br Citadels of greed crash down br Across a weeping land. br br Microbes deep within the sea br Hold life’s bold cradle now br Vaporised is all of Heaven’s blue br We made our perfect bow.
