Lonnie Hicks - Ocean Breakers

Lonnie Hicks - Ocean Breakers

She went to water; br she always did. br br The heaving ocean br matched her heavy breathing; br br it was a Ocean of Tears br like hers. br br The swells crash br against the shore br relentlessly; br life was relentless too. br br The foam; br br Anger in the Water that day. br br She went to water br she always did, br br moving among the sand dunes, br br face against the wind. br br The sea gulls overhead; br caw! caw! caw! br br She lifts her arms, br the wind blows her sleeves br making a flapping sound; br br she could hear whispers br between the breakers, br br she could hear weeping br among the retreating waves. br br She stood there br on the Edge of Forever. br br There is no end to the ocean. br br Every day it calls to the Sun br and makes it rise. br . br Every night it extinguishes it. br br She could walk to China; br she could br and no one would know; br no one would know. br br The voice said br 'I thought I would find you here' br br Waves crashing br more soothing now br two tracks in the sand. br br Sad swells br rise again br and retreat; br br time and ocean breaks br bring them back together again.
