Linda Winchell - ' I Know What Mom Was Saying'

I now know what my mom was saying br When she said, ” Don’t Rush on getting old! ” br You’ll get there soon enough my child br But my reply was sharp and very child-like cold! br br br br “I will never get to be as old as you! br Nor wrinkled, fat, slow and gray! ” br “I will exercise and moisturize my skin br And cover up with color br If I happen to go and get any grays! ” br br I thought mom was just trying to be bossy br But what I didn’t understand. br Was that in time, we all grow old br And find it difficult to walk or even stand. br br I now say those same words to my children br And to their children as well.
