Iwao Mizuta - Peace Park In Hiroshima

Iwao Mizuta - Peace Park In Hiroshima

So gently falls the mist of peace today: br Gaunt skeleton of steel industrial frame br Is all that's left of the city blown that day. br The grave of nameless ones who bore no blame br Beneath a grassy mound in sleep they stay. br There roses grace a garden lit by flame. br O bell, your mournful sounds each day release br Old memories with love worldwide for peace. br br The cryptic statue with her arms outspread br To bless a thousand paper cranes beneath br By children made for nameless children dead. br Before a cenotaph is laid a wreath br By silent masses, moving words unsaid. br So bright the sun, so sweet the air they breathe. br A flight of winging birds from earth release br Old memories of hope that wars would cease.
