George Hunter - Dreams

Now I lay me down to dreams br Life's not always what it seems. br Sometimes, to just get through the day br I have to dream my life away. br Of some things I am not certain br Reality's behind a curtain. br What is real and what is not br One can't tell upon the spot. br br What's a dream and what is real br Is very hard to tell by feel. br Sometimes dreams are very pleasant br Like eating caviar and pheasant br But other times they turn bad fast br But those kinds don't have to last. br Just wake yourself and then they're gone br And forgotten by the dawn. br br While real life, on the other hand br Is like a castle made of sand. br Events change fast, not always for the best br We have to hope we'll pass the test. br If things get rough when we are dreaming br We force ourselves to wake up screaming br But when awake and things go bad br There's no escape from that, my lad. br br If only we could pinch ourselves br And go TO a dream br Wouldn't that be an all right scheme? br To go back and forth between parallel worlds br Would surely keep our wits unfurled. br br But a lot of stuff is speculational br By scientists who seem semi-rational. br Like time warps, black holes, and string theory br That make dimensions very bleary. br Some of these ideas could even be true br Think about it br That's all I'm asking you.
