Subroto Chatterjee - Chances Are

Subroto Chatterjee - Chances Are

Should I write? I’m afraid I will, br I twirl my pen in a complex ride br As I sit on my window-sill, br to forget how my dreams have died. br br Yippies and rock stuck in a groove; br Winning and losing come at a price; br It’s now or never: make your move – br Champions rule at the roll of the dice. br br When business is booming and nothing is wrong, br The laidback and failed will rue their day; br Where people are singing Mammon’s song, br The desperate ones are keen to play. br br Chances are you have a road to take; br Chances are you have a story to tell; br Chances are you will make or break; br Chances are you have a chance in hell. br br If chance was a dance down the cobbled street; br I’d daresay we’d meet sometime and retreat br To heartfelt summer and face life’s oncoming autumn; br Loneliness sits at sorrow’s bottom. br br I oft played dice in innocent games; br Where childish weapons hath no names; br The growing years have kept me learning: br I live for the moment as my chances are turning. br br Copyright © SC br 22nd February 2008 br Mumbai.
