Subroto Chatterjee - Bitter Battle

The scorching sand is set to die br beneath the tree-shaded sky; br Experience life’s dark and light, br and don’t give up without a fight. br br The moon that pulls the seas waxes and wanes in Heaven; br Our assumptions on her contrariness may be forgiven. br And the sun that burns the days, lights our ambitions at its hest; br Life’s chosen ones are warmed and truly blest. br br Alec does the work followed by many; br The admass pay more than a pretty penny; br The consumer’s experience is the acme of the Brand; br You’ve just been had: welcome to the Promised Land! br br All those who know the tribulations of the community, br Know the disease that affects its members’ affinity: br Janus-faced politicians whose principles we uphold, br Are petty tyrants carved from a hellish mould. br br The kal-yug of tomorrow is the ever-passing today; br After who or what the deluge, doesn’t matter or it may- br The light that has many colors is bound by Nature’s law, br Bargain hunters have wagered Earth’s survival in this see-saw. br br An inconvenient truth is a hill to climb, br For you to bolt past, posture, or be left behind; br Billions of particles left out in space, br Aye, do they spell doom for our race? br br Copyright © SC br 5th February 2008 br Mumbai.
