David Taylor - If You Write Poetry Don't Say Anything

David Taylor - If You Write Poetry Don't Say Anything

What is poetry some have asked br how is it made and how to grasp br the perfect expression of that which lasts. br br This is not the language of debate br nor the words of wisdom spoke br by sages of dim and distant regions br when questioned by the rulers br of once great and ancient kingdoms. br br This is the language that weaves and flows br from the heart and seeks to find br that ethereal essence of all mankind br this is the language that no one knows br the language that neither fades nor grows. br br It fills imagination full br and speaks with words by which its filled br it speaks to the wise just as it speaks to fools br it speaks to all of that which is br and being that is always true. br br Only the stars can hold its sound br only the moon can make it round br and only the earth can make it bound. br br What sound is that by which its filled br that sound of stars in darkness br that sound that lights the heavens' vastness. br br It is your sound br which lies in every heart br and finds completeness br beyond the dark br it is the sound of a trillion suns br it is sound from which they come.
