After I heard Harry’s limerick, br I found that my mind set to simmer. “Rick, ” br I said to myself, br “One might write it itself, ” br But I answered, “You’re chances are slimmer, Rick! ” br br So I can’t find a good rhyme for Limerick. br Told myself, “ You are just a beginner, Rick br And though there’s no reason br You can’t write something decent, br I fancy your chances get grimmer, Rick! ” br br He said that it might rhyme with turmeric br But I thought, “You’re not that fast a learner, Rick: br Ditch your thoughts wasting time br Finding suitable rhyme; br Let your plans, man, stand on the back burner, Rick.” br br But the cogwheels had started to turn a bit br As I guessed I had started to learn a bit br And I might find a line br That rhymes Limerick fine br And might win me a prize, so I earn a bit. br br But I thought, “Though there was just a glimmer, Rick. br You will think till you’re needing a zimmer, Rick, br Since the muse isn’t kind, br I am sure you’ll will find br Not a word that will rhyme fine with Limerick.
