Sandra Martyres - He relied on his sense of touch

Sandra Martyres - He relied on his sense of touch

He relied on his sense of touch br Without having to say much br Randy was a young blind child br Brought up almost in the wild br Surrounded by illiterate lads br Who looked and behaved like little cads br Yet he was always very mild br A very gentle and well mannered child br Walking and feeling his way around br Which did everyone astound? br People would keep watching in awe br As he ambled towards the door br He did not trip br He did not fall br Nor did he for any help Call br He had no white cane br He simply used his alert brain br Then came his real test br He had to go to school like the rest br No teachers wanted him in their class br They feared he would never pass br If he from birth could not see br How would he even imagine a tree br Or learn the alphabets br He would be a drag on the other children br But the world is not short of good Samaritans br One came forward like an Aladdin br He led the boy to a distant cave br And with clay models and Braille br To him the required knowledge gave br Soon he gained enough confidence. br In his mentor’s loving care br he was able to shed his diffidence br He went back and joined school br Today he is looked upon by all br as a model child who answered his call br One who gives to hope br to all physically challenged children br That even in this tough and cruel world br Given a chance they will be able to cope.
