Syeda Beenish Jalil - A DESPARATE PLEA

Syeda Beenish Jalil - A DESPARATE PLEA

All my life I felt immortal br Family, fortune, I had it all br Then a second is all it took br My world, my dream place shook br The sky seemed to touch my feet br The roar, the sound, the sizzling heat br I tried to move, to run, to hide br Every organ of my body cried br The suffocating heat and the dust br The sickening smell of dead and rust br br I was trapped in a world of dark br I screamed but it left no mark br I cried for help, waited desperately br I wondered what had been happening lately br Was it day or was it night br Would some one ever bring me light br br It hurt to breath or open my eyes br My throat was dry with desperate cries br I’ll die in here, no one will know br The feeling arises as time grow br No food to eat, nothing to drink br The angels of hope now slowly sink br br br My tears are dry after so long br Soon I will return to where I belong br I might as well die today, you know br I just do not want the pain to grow br br br But those who still live up there br Who walk the earth with little fear br And those who lost all they had br And dig the rubble with little aid br Give them help don’t be late br For who knows, how many like me wait br We need you now, more than ever br Help us please be our savior br For if we cannot pay you back br May God give you blessings special pack br br br (On 8th October 2007 a devastating earthquake struck the Northern Part of Pakistan. It destroyed every thing, hundreds of people were killed and millions were left homeless. Schools, colleges and universities were washed away.
