Putholi Arumugham T - WANDERING WORDSWORTH IN SRILANKA

I wandered lonely as a cloud over Srilanka br That floats on high o'er vales and hills br when all at once I saw a crowd, br A host, of dying humans; br Beside the trench, beneath the trees, br crying and moaning in pain. br br br Enormous as the stars that shine br And twinkle on the milky way, br They stretched in never ending line br Along the margin and inside the No-war Zone br Ten thousand I saw at a glance br Trembling and weeping over their kins corpse. br br br The armoured vehicles and fighterjets shelled, br But they outdid the army in scream br A poet could not but cry for action, br Looking such a cold hearted genocide br I cried....and cried....but little thought br What agony the show to me had brought. br br br For aft, when on my couch I lie br In vacant or in pensive mood br They flash upon that inward eye br And put me to shame for being human br And then my heart with bitterness fills, br And to lift my pen against the arms.
