LOVE UNDER THE INCA br SKY! br When I planted a stolen kiss on your lips, br Those tender lips so innocent and pure! br Between the tall bushes and slender trees, br Gaining strength to endure! br With your black hair’s cascading flow, br And your beauty all shimmering bright; br When you anxiously looked back to see, br And hurried back with steps so light! br br And at night under the starry sky, br I think of you as my guiding star! br With your laughter like the mountain stream, br You stay so near, and yet you are so far! br I go to bed with your happy thoughts, br And think of the goodness of your heart; br Of kissing you behind those bushes once br more, br When our lips will get locked, - never to br part! br - Raj Nandy br New Delhi br 16 May 09 br (In this poem an Inca youth passionately yearns br for his mate!
