They start out small br And fuzzy br Something playful br Then they grow br Always needing a Mother's love br Hungry for attention. br br Until br They first use their claws br Scratching and digging br Sometimes forgetting to cover up the poop br Become vocal br And demanding br Wanting to be let out. br br No longer are they playful br They become a bore br Sleep a lot br Eating more br Independent and proud. br br And finally br Having gone as far as they can br Fall out of favor br Abandoned for another br Lost in the wilderness. br br But in my mind, br They are always playful br A joy to behold br Perhaps a scolding is needed br But some will always remain br Among my favorite(s) . br br For Poems are indeed, like Kittens. br br sbr br Sidi J.
