Herbert Nehrlich - Hidden Weapons

I heard about the cheers, br onlookers chosen by br the kindly executioners, br who took great pleasure br in ripping off the head br of that big monster, br fed and raised by Uncle Sam. br He'd suffered from a plague, br a brief attack that changed br his endocrine endowment fund, br testosterone ran wild, its foam br engulfing all gray matter and br defiance reared its bearded head br to wander off into the world of dunes br where kingdoms can be built of sand. br With terror only visible inside br his cruel eyes, there was an air br of simple bravery, the shackles held br and fear was smelled by all, br the fear of predator and prey. br The family went mad, the uncle said br we must now bleed the bastards dry, br take on the valiant task of altruism, br to keep the people safe and well, br so all the rellies gathered with their charts, br long lists of weapons to be used, br at last, it was the stuff that builds br and nurtures an economy, a must br for a regime that sees itself as having been br appointed by the Gods to lead, br and to impose its generosity upon the world, br its goodness and a system fit for those br who would be welcomed in the fold, br whose contributions would be seen by all br to be the currency's democracy and peace, br it would be known henceforth to peasants and br to kings and Gods and devils all the same, br the great essence, also known as the Good Oil.
