Herbert Nehrlich - A Christopher Marlowe Poem

Come live with me and be my love, br And we will all the pleasures prove br That valleys, groves, hills, and fields, br Woods or steepy mountain yields. br br And we will sit upon the rocks, br Seeing the shepherds feed their flocks, br By shallow rivers to whose falls br Melodious birds sing madrigals. br br And I will make thee beds of roses br And a thousand fragrant posies, br A cap of flowers, and a kirtle br Embroidered all with leaves of myrtle; br br A gown made of the finest wool br Which from our pretty lambs we pull; br Fair lined slippers for the cold, br With buckles of th purest gold; br br A belt of straw and ivy buds, br With coral clasps and amber studs: br And if these pleasures may thee move, br Come live with me and be my love. br br The shepherds' swains shall dance and sing br For thy delight each May morning: br If these delights thy mind may move, br Then live with me and be my love. br br br br br Herbert Nehrlich addition: br br And I shall weave from fallen leaves br a crown which in the end deceives br the devil and his Reaper grim, br no sight will fade, no eyes gow dim br br On moss you will be resting and br with kisses love and soothe my hand br the sheep? The hounds will care for those br while I go find for you a rose br br to place behind you pretty ear br so that from now it too can hear br the whispers of your lover's call br each tone, and PACE*, yes to all, br br I thirst for you, please kiss my lips br and bring them close, your sensuous hips, br and let us rest here, in the shade br while thoughts of duty slowly fade.
