Bill Simmons - The Pastor And The Serpent

The Serpent met his match when he approached Thomas Thatch br A country pastor who's mission was to heal br Said the serpent to Thomas, I'll make you a rich man br All you need to do is before me right now kneel br br Thomas said, I don't think so, but I'll have you know br My mission is to save a soul a day br And if I do nothing else with all that of my life br At least I've walked a righteous holy way br br But I can give you power, said the serpent br And I can give you land! br I can put your very name br On the tongue of every man! br br I can give you fame br Make you the greatest of all time! br Would you walk away from that br And choose your path not mine? br br Said Thomas, The Lord Almighty br He takes care of all my needs br I consort with him and he talks to me br I do for him to please br br I seek not for my next drink br I worry not for my next meal br He provides in all those things br Always has and always will br br I think it is you, said now Thomas br Who should change and walk the way br For even you and the evil you do br You too can still be saved br br I must go, said the serpent br For this nonsense I have no time! br No hurry to go, said The Pastor br You still have not changed my mind br br Do you mean, said the serpent br That your faith I stand to aloft? br No, said Thomas now with ax in hand br He then cuts the serpents head right off br br He skins the serpent then throws into a pot br And there before the pot he kneels br 'It is I Thomas, my Dear Lord Almighty' br 'I thank you for my next meal'.
