K.C. Clarke - Tomorrow Is A Long Time

K.C. Clarke - Tomorrow Is A Long Time

What’s left of my day: br the blather of lawn mowers, br a momentary train, br the mail carrier, her mace br & scrap paper, br Jehovah’s Witnesses, nothing br I count on- br it is like I’ve been left br behind, me sitting on a stump br beside this house, br only five cigarettes, br & I’ve lost my keys- br it is almost night, br there’s thunder in the drizzle- br another train coming, br carrying things somewhere, br br what does it matter where it goes; br there’s nothing in those places- br br dogs are barking, teaching me br about distance, & you love, br you aren’t coming home br tonight.br br K.C.
