Society As We Know It br br I hate how this world is an ugly, evil place, br And how the devil has taken on a very new face. br Our world is in war br Of man against man br And just to win that war, br That guy will do whatever he can. br He'll make bombs that will blow away houses, br He'll make machine guns that riddle people's spouses. br Man will go out and shoot his own brother br To show off himself as a gang friend to another. br Man will go out and, just to make a buck, br Man will bet money on another man's luck. br Man will go and sell 'enchanted weed', br To forever plant in the buyer, br The addiction seed. br What happened to the world br When you could walk to church br See families huddled together br At a once common perch. br Now those families fight br With their guns and their knives br Feeding their hate br By taking each others lives. br Whatever happened br When Billy would go to school br Go get good grades for college br And not act like a fool. br Now instead, Billy has 'fun' br He smokes his pot and plays with his gun. br He said his first swear word at the age of seven, br And drank his first beer at the age of eleven. br Whatever happened br To the world of yesteryear? br When families would get together, br And minors stayed away from beer? br When modesty was best, br And abstinence was right br When people really cared br About another's plight. br I hope the devil burns away br Goes to hell and there he stay. br I feel sorry for this generation br Who will only know of the down-hill pace of degradation.
