Michael Silver - Cold Embers

Michael Silver - Cold Embers

Like small embers they glowed br Illuminating what little light they had br Yet they promised to set the world ablaze br Then a murderous tempest blew br Its cold winds muffled their hissing screams br Under kindle they could not hide br And the efforts of good hearted men could not shield them br Now we are shrouded in darkness br Covered in a shawl of guilt br Depression br Hatred br Fear br And pity br We have been blinded br No candle shall we light from them so as to pray br No lantern shall be brightened for our paths to be seen br No torches shall be lit so that we may gather together br And the hopes and dreams of warmth and safety shall not be known to many br Now there are still other braziers from which we may take embers br Who promise to do better than others br But we may never forget this day br This day of darkness br The day when shadows crept into our homes br When our hearts went cold with black scars br Let us never forget this terrible night when nations prayed to God as one br Because some are still waiting for an answerbr br Michael Silverbr br
