Bill Grace - Simple Pleasures

Bill Grace - Simple Pleasures

Simple pleasures for me are these: br A well balanced pen with smooth flowing ink, br Eighty pound paper, smooth finished, black line spaced (no anemic blue) , full length tri and multi punched, br Hot dogs at ‘Betty and Roy’s, ’ br Fresh squeezed orange juice at ‘Cha Cho’s, ’ br Cold beer at night after a too full day, br A headline that brings good news, br A sermon that grants a laugh, br A three hour lap swim knowing you can push yet more, br The outside pool you do not have to clean to use, br Daughter’s kiss unbidden – wife taking hand, br Learning Nietzsche is pronounced Neetcha, br Learning of the steel of Nelson Mandela’s self discipline for good, br Our flag full furled by constant breeze, br Bargain at a garage sale, br Morning coffee and early morning bird song, br Black leather shoes shined to a mirror finish, br Watching cat plays, br Reading early Frost, br Publishing these lines.
