Bill Grace - On Shoeing the American President

Bill Grace - On Shoeing the American President

The fellow who threw the shoe br Knew exactly what he would do br I wonder if there will be a future pay off br For having given his world so definitive a statement br Of a supremely dark disdain. br br Bush, it seems to me, was never known as an open man br This event could confirm the wisdom of that stand br Of a quarter back wise enough to almost always stay behind his line. br In youth I would have thought such an action fine br But time and growing a hair more wise br Has helped me understand the calculus of leaders and led a little more br The future is what will tell us what is in store br And sustain or deny the statement of a flying shoe.
