Bill Grace - :) Poem of Pure Autobiography - Watches

Bill Grace - :) Poem of Pure Autobiography - Watches

First there was the Donald Duck br Then the Hopalong Cassidy br Then Grammy gave a Swiss Incablock in 4th grade br A real watch that lasted past br Bertha Lederer commenting on it in the undergarduate stacks br Until I sort of killed it br When hunting for a body br I mercifully did not find br In a murky pool br When I was a life guard. br br By then I was hooked br Accuracy to a minute a month br Aunt Ruth gave the money br That bought a splendid Accutron. br br Some years and at least two watches later br A friend nudged me over my addiction br Sugggesting Kairos over Chronos br As antidote to the poison br Of my marriage to the unforgiving minute br br Eight therapists later br At last I can shudder br For the child who was beaten br Because at first try br I could not make br My mind a slate.
