Elizabeth Tyease Collins - *The Dark*

Elizabeth Tyease Collins - *The Dark*

I stand alone with the lights turned out, br reaching for the existance that I want on my fingertips. br br I hear the voices through the darkness call me strange, br i feel my whole body grow cold, br like someone touched me frozen. br br I breathe out good and intake evil, br for it reeks with their hate throughout the dark air, br I knew then, br that I was not home. br br I can never speak of my excuses for my attempted suicide, br and I drowned in the darkness that sent a wave through me. br br My hands will never stretch out toward the darkness again br because I've become whatever they've told me I will, br and I watched the world devour in flames, br the only light I saw, br were the flames.
