ANDREW BLAKEMORE - As Clouds Now Weep

ANDREW BLAKEMORE - As Clouds Now Weep

As through the winter's rain I go br And facing chilly winds that blow, br As I do wander here alone br Along the paths of cobbled stone, br The walls are steep on either side br No home in which I can abide, br For hopes of love have passed me by br As clouds now weep and gently cry. br br Within the alley that I walk br The feral cats begin to stalk, br From bins upturned they follow me br As if it is their territory, br They see me off into the road br They hiss and scratch and then they goad, br For hopes of love have passed me by br As clouds now weep and gently cry. br br Along the faceless streets of hate br I walk along and cannot wait, br Or stop to talk to those who dwell br The people I once new so well, br Who now don't give me time of day br But simply look the other way, br For hopes of love have passed me by br As clouds now weep and gently cry. br br As darkness falls I carry on br My spirit's weak my will has gone, br Yet in my dreams I think of you br The only love I ever knew, br Against the arch I rest my head br And slowly make my sodden bed, br For hopes of love have passed me by br As clouds now weep and gently cry.
