Trapped like a bird in a cage br Never to be freed br Twenty years have past and I've bottled up all my rage br No visitors and nothing to do so I watch as I make myself bleed br Just one friend is all I need br Its so dark and I'm my own best friend br I know I'll die alone in the end br Another 10 years has past and my cage is rusted br I cough from a sickness I had gotten and I know my time is short br Still no friends and even I can't be trusted br I lay in bed knowing my time has thinned br I think about all the times I've sinned br As I lay dieing I can't help but think I could have prevented being trapped in a cage.
