Ronald Doku - A Story Night

Ronald Doku - A Story Night

Twilight is here and the sun departs with calming beauty br Children bid it farewell with such joy and delight br That emit feelings of nostalgia from elderly onlookers br As their goodbye songs travel beyound the great lake br When they welcome the Friday moon br By the bank of the moonlit shimmering lake br Little footprints leave their marks on the sand br The young crowd make their way to the lake's end br Where the burning firewood awaits their company br Under a leafy sky, are dark shaped silhouettes br Of anxious little bodies sitting on logs by a bonfire br Who anticipate the coming of the story teller br Hoots heard miles away give the story its special effects br When the children are so caught in the story br And they lay their tongues to rest br Their ears sharper than their parents' farm machetes br They listen to the trickery and wisdom of Ananse, the great spider br Of whom they consider more than a folklore at that moment br But a god who through his messenger, the story teller br Teach them valuable lessons in lifebr br Ronald Dokubr br
