Jonathan Marks - With All Due Respect to Eckhart Tolle

Jonathan Marks - With All Due Respect to Eckhart Tolle

Some time ago, I read the Power of Now; br Except then, br It was Now, br Although Now with my pen, br I am writing about Then. br br This poem is Now, br But tomorrow in Now br Will be Yesterday. br And Yesterday in Now is Today br So neither Yesterday, br Nor Tomorrow exist br And the ephemeral Now - br - Is just a major cash cow. br Which is okay by me br In our economy free. br br So, what about the Power of Then? br Or the Power of Men? br Or the Power of Zen? br Or, the Power of When...? br br If When is Then, br Because only Now exists br Then “When” does not exist - br - Except as “Then, ” br And is called “Now.” br br Call it what you may, br “Now’s” different every day. br It’s a question of perspective. br But to think of that br And try to have a chat, br Is like trying to catch br A frightened cat. br br “Come now, lad, ” says our common sense man. br “Now is now; then is then; when is when; and br Tomorrow will be and yesterday was. br When will you learn? br They all have power in their turn.” br br ---------- br br Copyright © 2009 by Jonathan Sion.
