Joe Rosochacki - I Do Recall Firestone tires

BridgestoneFirestone is recalling tires again. br Firestone that it was the driver’s fault before. br I do Recall -- in 1975, back then. br I had just purchased my Chevy Monza fastback br -- from Merollis Chevrolet. br On McNichols and Van Dyke. br I had Firestone Radial 500’s on the car. br The ride was good until a year and half later. br I had blow-out on one the tires, br At 65 miles per hour, br - the damaged tire had a blown apart on the inner part. br It was violent, br -that I had been older and have been frailer, br -it could have stopped my heart. br It was odd a tire would blow out that way. br I do Recall. br But, I just figures S$T happens. br Now Joe Kay, he was classmate of mine in high school, br He was married to Theresa Swider, br -and he worked as a manager at Firestone. br I encountered a second blow almost like the first. br I asked one time to be straight with me. br Joe Kay said, “It’s the driver fault for not having the proper amount of air pressure”. br Was he talking to a fool? br Later the Firestone Company acknowledged the problem, br Even though br - there was memo, br Stating the tire could separate and the steel belt from tire itself. br Firestone recalled the tires and prorated the Firestone 721’s in their place. br I do Recall. br How dare they charge anyone! br FR380 P23575R15 is the latest tires to be involved. br About 127,000 of them. br BridgestoneFirestone is replacing for free. br That didn’t happen to me, br I paid for prorated 721’s that replaced my 2 Radial 500’s. br I do Recall. br Same story different decade. br The more things change they remain the same.
