I have travelled in a circle through France Portugal and Spain, br Perhaps one day in the future I will travel this route again, br A reason for memories no time for great regrets, br Tonight I find myself back home again happy it gets no better than this. br br I have basked on sun drenched beaches, br Then played in the breaking surf, br Wandered the goat paths in the mountains, br With Roman ruins as witness to civilizations past, br br I have been to the end of the known world, br From where Portugese explorers set forth, br With no charts or maps to guide them, br Strength, intellect and courage was their worth, br br I have viewed the sun over North Africa, br Tasted and breathed the Saharen dust, br Viewed a perfect Spanish landscape, br Ruined by developement and greed. br br We spent some time with family, br Then charted our Northward route, br After crossing a few mountain ranges, br Homeward boundwards was the route that we took, br br As tonight I finish this poem, br From the shores of the Isle of Wight, br We have had so many adventures, br But being home is a pure delight.
