U Win Kyi - Food (I Am Longing For Food, Mum Cooked)

When I was a kid, br in a far, far village I lived. br My parents kept cows, goats and pigs. br They also planted vegetable and fruit...so juicy and big. br I drank plenty of milk...so fresh. br I ate beef, mutton and pork in big chunk...so red. br Mum cooked the home-grown food, br for my health they were so good. br br Now I live in a city. br My work keeps me so busy. br I eat hamburger, french-fries and take-away, br almost every day. br from chinese restaurants and fast-food chains. br I drink energy-boosting beverage laced with coccaine. br br Now there are news about cooking oil, br The restaurants are telling a big lie. br A surprise check found out they renewed the oil once a week. br A far cry from standard need. br For making a big profit, br they use the old oil for frying chip. br Cooking the oil for more than 6 hours, br will cause it..more acidic and sour, br producing a substance called Acrylamide, br a cancer-causing toxin for human life. br Excessive use of preservative chemical in bun and bread, br so that they can be sold longer on the shelves. br br Eating these food I must stop, br otherwise my life expectency will be short. br I am longing for food, my Mum cooked, br though not as colorful as those in gourmet book.
