Tatiana Elliott - If you were like a garden

Tatiana Elliott - If you were like a garden

If you were like a garden br And the world was looking for your weeds br I’d want to see your flowers br And what you ought to see br If the world picked at you br Until they finally found your thorns br I’d want to see red roses br Standing healthy and untorn br If they all gathered round and tried to chop you down br I’d want to build you up and plant you gently on safer ground br And when they harshly clipped at you until you finally fell apart br I’d want to find the pieces and show you who you are br br If you were like an ocean br And the world looked for your wrecks br Of the boats that you turned over br And sent down to the depths br I’d want to see the beauty br And peace of the golden sun set br Knowing the cruel storms over br Even if the damage took effect br I’d want to dive down deeper br Into the cold dark sea br And rid you of those shipwrecks and meaningless debris br br If you were like the world br Bitter and full of pride br I’d want to bring you back br So you’d rest right by my side br Though I know that in the end br It rests upon your choice br If you blend in with the cynical crowd br Or stand out and have a voice br br I can make the mountains tremble br I can hush the oceans roar br I can do anything I want to br But I won’t take you by force br br Am I not the gardener br Am I not the wind br Am I not the saviour br Who died upon that cross for all your sins br br If you will try to know me br I’d rest you on my wing br If you would just surrender br I’d be your flee from sin br But if you stand back away from me br Ashamed you know my name br I will be ashamed of you br And in the end, let you have your painbr br Tatiana Elliottbr br
