My soul seeks for compassion, br My being for mercy yearns, br I have sinned, I have sinned, br I have sinned against my God. br br Ashamed to face Him, br Too afraid to look on His face, br I distance myself, I distance myself, br The more each time. br br I feel like a hypocrite, br I pray but feel nothing. br Am I not heard? Am I not heard? br I am restless, I am impatient. br br I flip to a random page in that Book, br The Torah, The Word of God. br "Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually." br I kneel, I bow, br I seek and pray. br br My eyes open, I seek my God, br I looked on that very same page. br "O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever." br I cry, I weep, br I see His reality, His Word, His deed. br br My God does care, br I am reminded again, br His Torah, His Word, br His compassion, His mercy, I comprehend.
