Naseer Ahmed Nasir - Weep Holes

Naseer Ahmed Nasir - Weep Holes

Don't take us for the wall itself br For when the earthen plank behind the wall br Gets soaked through br We'll let the sorrow of burdonsome wetness br Flow through us br br The soil sucks the trees' roots till now br Till now the sorrow of waters br hasn't reached the earthen plank behind the walls br Earth has not seen the woebegone face of the sky br The wall hasn't learnt to shed tears br br Wind even now expects to blow the leaves away br Empty polythene bags sputter on roads br That never had trees planted on sides br People drink blood of their own climes br And grow like germs br Bonfire conflagrations ignite every where br Smoke has turned the flowers black br Butterflies' wings look ashen br The dream's face will bend under pressure br And break into smithereens br Let the moisture come! br Let the clouds of pains burst! br Let the sky's sorrow descend to the earth! br br Don't consider us the wall itself br Don't think we're but worthless br For when the earthen plank behind the wall br Gets soaked br We'll be there to let the sorrow br Of burdensome wetness br flow through us br Look! Our eyes do not have tears br But the mud of our dreams. br br br (Translated by Dr.
