Irene C S ClarkHogg - Fat Mary

Irene C S ClarkHogg - Fat Mary

Mary Margaret Montigrew br Was looking rather fat br But over-indulgence in chocolate cake br Was not the reason for that br br She was walking out with bold young Jack br Who was a farmer’s son br But he disappeared to Timbuctoo br When the trouble first began br br Mary blamed the tiny fairy folk br Who lived in Pixley Dell br She said they wove a magic spell br That made her feel unwell br br She was sick nearly every morning br And she got fatter still br Her mother sighed and Mary cried br But her Dad had had his fill br br He went to look for farmer Jack br Carrying his biggest gun br When much to Mary’s astonishment br She produced a baby son br br But everyone smiled a few days later br When the baby turned bright green br And his pointed ears and tiny wings br Could now be plainly seen.
