Dr Hitesh Sheth - The Swan Song of a Falling Leaf

Dr Hitesh Sheth - The Swan Song of a Falling Leaf

Now I am rocked in the air br By the winds of death and despair br Rushing to the burial ground br Whereon wait the ash-strewn mounds. br br Not long ago I was a budding leaf br Sipping the wind of joy sans grief br I would laugh at yellow chaps br Greeted their fall with thunderous claps. br br Hallucinating that I and pyramid are alike, br Which a storm of death would fail to strike. br But slowly time painted me yellow, br Not unlike my long lost fellows. br br At last my blinded pride br Wayward coz of lack of guide br Sees that neither joy nor pain br But death is a life’s lasting gain.
