You silently flutter with black winged Nyx, br Dally and ease, oblivious to her tricks. br br In Erebus’ bowels lays, she, germless eggs. br Broods in her darkness, on haunted pegs. br br From her loins, gold winged Eros sprang. br To whose majesty, Venus and Cupid sang. br br The dark light that, from stars had fell. br On Zeus, cast, Hera, Hypnos’ spell. br br Mighty Zeus, faltered!
