Michelle Tricarico - ode to Clothes

Ode to Clothes br My soft, fluffy shirt, br My Aunt got me for doing what I do best, br Helping, br Keeps me covered, like a hotdog in a bun br My Carhartt pants that I got at JC Penny, Protect my legs br Like a tubby boy protects his cake. br My thick fuzzy socks that I got for my birthday, br Keep my feet warm br Like fresh bread out of the oven. br My leather shoes that I found at a garage sale, br Protect my fuzzy socks to keep them dry, br Like a guard watching over his prisoners. br br Clothes, necessary, common object needed for the human race. br But not everyone hast it. br That’s why I’m thankful for it, that I have them. br br Even, br br My smooth zippered coat, wraps me in warmth, br Like a sandwich in a baggie. br My wool hat, defends my ears from getting cold, br Like blubber on a bear that keeps him warm through hibernation. br Ode to clothes, I’m glad I have them.
