Sandra Martyres - Loneliness

Sandra Martyres - Loneliness

Humans were created br To be related br To stay united in families br And for the families to live br Harmoniously in communities br It happened systematically in the past br When dependence levels were high br And relationships were made to last br Now older people look back and sigh br For today things have changed br Each individual is an island unto himself br Considered capable of meeting his own needs br Both temporal and intellectual br br There are jobs, books and the media br To educate him and keep him busy br There are restaurants and fast food joints br To cater to every pocket and palate br Bars, night clubs, theatres and all else br To entertain him but after that - what br Every man and woman needs to return home br To people who value and care for him or her br This is what is really beginning to disappear br br The resultant sense of loneliness is a killer br Here is where people lose out br Staying in the perennial rat race br Looking for more material comforts br And that illusive state of mind br Commonly referred to as their own space br Societal recognition is their only ambition br Selfishness takes over and they are br Unable to stay connected to each other br Broken homes strained relations br Are not uncommon thereafter br Is this the way we want to stay?br br Sandra Martyresbr br
