Dad! Years back br When you were br In your early thirties br And loved to ride a bike, br A black Enfield it was. br br And me as your loving kid, br For fun would sit on the fuel-tank, br And as you rode br With the tempo br Of the moving bike br And the wind on my face, br I would close my eyes br And keep them closed br Until we reached home. br br My mind calm br And my thought process meditative. br br As a child I little understood br But full of belief br Of being saved from br Every bump or pothole, br For at that time br You were there to take care, br The bumpy ride on potholes br Of the rugged road br Always made me giggle. br br Dad! br Now too I ride br But on my own br And the ride is not the same, br Every bump startles br And ever pothole scares me. br Dad, Years have passed, br I still desperately br Miss that ride.
