Void of the memory filled though br Unconscious discovers linkages past br Soul raptures for the future to fly br Is it darkness with absolute emptiness br br Fable of the master* is that having no reason br Why then they danced around the cup empty br On knowledge it was found for the nothingness br Just the nothingness that gives the heart enchantments br br Of remembrance much sweeter of love than appearance br Of future fantasy many a lives devoured for the Houri br Rivers of holy water and eternity hereafter br In nothingness then floats in space untreaded br Yet invention of kind that shall let loose br Thinking that pleases to the fantasy in dreams br br The lover moved around the beloved br A bee would learn to suckle the nectar sweet br A nightingale that never left the rose in bloom br Ears had to the reed’s depth of lament br Yet the presence was not unlike the rock of Sinai br br What thirst O heart on thy tongue for long br A dropp of wine or else an ablution br Tarafa* for the love of his beloved in the end br The will was to make him drink to the fullest br Let the mother earth or holy fire or beast bird br To the presence sans a cup in hand how br br I had of the passing moments in nothingness br Nay the ecstasy in remembrance for future br Anticipation was the nothing again foreseen br Thus longed for the beloved and the wine and verse sweet br Thus rebeck in the hands of that beauty smiling like moon br 17102009 br br *Master: Refers to a fable of Jalaluddin Rumi br br *Tarafa Ibn Al Abd: A Poet who before execution asked for winebr br Sadiqullah Khanbr br
