- * MAMA'S LEGACY * - br br When I was just a little girl br I lay in Mama's bed br To listen to the fairy tales br From the little books she read. br br Of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs br Cinderella and her Prince br Of Rumplestiltskin-Puss 'N Boots br And Aladdin and his tents. br br I couldn't get enough of them br I'd ask her every night br But sleep would always conquer me br No matter how I'd fight. br br I'd recite the words along with her br I knew them all by heart br She'd read to me from anything br Some knowledge to impart. br br She taught me about the world around br From books she read aloud br She made my life worth living br And made me live it proud. br br When I had children of my own br I read from those same books br To teach my children that in this life br You need brains, not just good looks. br br Author: Carolyn Ford Witt br Ms.
