hasmukh amathalal - Well (Dug Hole)

It is age old tradition to dig well on highway br Travelers not to face difficulties on mid way br Living being may find it real and fine gesture br Tree branches near by may reflect true nature br br Rulers, donors or wealthy generally constructed br To be used by all and normally so instructed br It was noble work and spoke of very good act br People may remember as it was common fact br br In well, deep calm blue water appeared on surface br If you bend to see, may reveal your true face br Though you may be in hurry but find peace br You may rest there with calm and ease br br Well may serve well so long it remains as well br How to preserve it may be like story to tell br So little in common but much to reveal br Good deeds and noble act and nothing to conceal br br Go near to well and you won’t regret br No complaint even if you take water out in bucket br Passers by may stay for while and have rest br Thirst may be quenched on the way as crucial test br br Great people remained aloof but acted like well br Never confined knowledge within or tried to sell br They might have preferred to store but ignored br Could sleep well over the books and snored br br Knowledge is like deep well meant for common use br May stink if remained for long time without use br A well is called “well” if used very well br Whose beginning is well the end may also be well br br Now wells are no more in use and remain as monuments br Served the purpose well at the time of crucial moments br Passers by and travelers noted its importance br Is it not the sheer neglect that we plead our ignorance?br br hasmukh amathalalbr br
