Kale Beaudry - *In the Captains Chair

Kale Beaudry - *In the Captains Chair

Once, like a baby in br need of sleep, I rocked br on the wake of the sea; br the salty breeze hid among long br sleeves, the waves becoming my old br knees. br br Once, like a starvin br dog with growly belly, I br smelled the ocean air; br the horizon fair from captains chair, br crag and crook form Neptunes br bear. br br Once, like a hawk with br its eye to a hare, I br watched the kelp float past; br the fast ships first chance to outlast br the bold blue sky tossing diamonds on br glass. br br Once, like a man with br no hope in his eyes, I br looked up at night to pray... br only to gaze a million lanterns play, br their beauty untouched by affliction br today. br br br br br br br Once, like a man with br hope in his eyes, I br sat in the captains chair; br and I rocked on the sea, br and I watched the nightsky, br and I breathed the last br of my ocean air.
