Sandra Martyres - Regret

Sandra Martyres - Regret

The seas were beckoning him br Or so he genuinely believed br They helped him introspect br About his present loneliness br He spent hours sitting on a rock br Focusing on the regularity and rhythm br Of the waves as they lashed the shore br Trying to forget his lost love br The sprightly young woman br With a shock of curly red hair br One who had brought meaning to his life br Regretfully he had been ignoring her br In his constant search for power and pelf br He spent more time hobnobbing br With the rich and famous while his br Lady love spent long evenings alone br And just when he thought that br He had achieved all that he wanted br She decided to call it a day br Packed up her belongings and br Left for an unknown destination br He wondered unendingly if it was br Another man who was the driver br Of her decision to leave him br One who had showered her br With his undivided attention br But he will never really know br As her parting note was terse br “While you continue your single-minded br Search for both power and pelf br I am embarking on a search of myself br Please do not bother to look for me br Goodbye and good luck”br br Sandra Martyresbr br
