Rajaram Ramachandran - ##20 (Vivekananda) The Master's Last Days

One day, there came a scholar br And advised the Master, br “For your self-cure, concentrate br Steadily on your bad throat.” br br This would mean diversion br Of his mind from God then, br Switching over to his body, br For which he wasn’t ready. br br When Narendra persisted, br To Mother Kali, Guru prayed, br Just to satisfy his disciple, br And it was not fruitful. br br What was Mother’s advice, br He told the worried disciples, br “To eat thro’ your mouths, br Mother gave me her orders.” br br Here, the principles of Vedanta br Was quoted by Ramakrishna, br That God pervaded all souls, br To prove oneness of existence. br br In Ramakrishna’s opinion, br This was the true realization br To overcome the pain br Or suffering by anyone. br br The advance stage of disease br Made his condition serious, br And he looked like a skeleton br Just covered by a thin skin. br br As he couldn’t even whisper, br He had to write on paper, br That all his acquired powers br Would work thro’ his disciples. br br Was Guru God incarnate? br Narendra still had this doubt. br Guru told him, “Rama and Krishna br Both are in me as Ramakrishna.” br br Thus, Guru himself declared br That he came to this world br As God-man to guide the people br And make them more spiritual. br br On 16th August,1886, morn br Ramakrishna, the Holy-man, br Entered the heavenly abode, br Leaving this material world. br br A week thereafter they saw, br A luminous figure, with awe, br Not merely as an illusion, br But actually in their vision..
