Time flies by so quickly br almost in a blink of an eye br and years vanish almost completely. br It does not seem forty-three years ago br I put pen to paper and wrote br what has turned out to be my best poem ever. br The one that has attracted more attention br than any other I have written. br Its accolades still confound me br as I am in wonder of them all. br Especially as it was never written br as a poem at all, but a lyric for a song. br As a lyric, it was turned down br as being rather immature, br but as a poem, it is loved by everyone. br I find it hard to believe that forty-four people br have added it to their favourites list. br I am still rather in awe of its reception. br I am still trying to comprehend br that any one of my works would be so highly prized. br Every time I read it, I try to find br the essence everyone else sees. br The beauty within it that captures their imagination. br One day someone might explain to me br the beauty I actually captured, br at least I hope they will, br as I’d dearly love to know.
