In order to take Vedas br To the ignorant masses, br Narendra required preachers br To go to different places. br br He encouraged his brothers br To study deeply Vedas, br As thru’ these disciples, br It could reach the masses. br br First to solve their poverty br There was a dire necessity br To follow the developed West br By the under developed East. br br Between the West and the East br He wanted a bridge to be built, br To solve many problems faced br By material and spiritual world. br br The West looked at the East br For their spiritual progress, br While the East faced the West, br For their material prospects. br br Narendra came in between br The East and the West then br As a religious messenger, br To fulfill his Master’s desire. br br It so happened one day br When he was on his way br To Varanasi, he had met br A realized senior saint. br br Pavhari Baba was his name, br Narendra spent sometime br To discuss a few points br And learn yoga from this saint. br br The saint didn’t tell Narendra br A word on the practice of yoga, br But in his vision, at that time, br His Guru Ramakrishna came. br br The Guru gazed at his eyes br For nearly twenty one days. br This feeling opened his eyes br On the Guru’s earlier days. br br Though his Guru was no more br His instructions were still there br Which had he really followed br He wouldn’t have suffered. br br He prayed Guru for pardon br And started doing meditation. br This time with no fears, br Nor with any more doubts.
