Almedia Knight Oliver - Oh, How The time Slips Away

Almedia Knight Oliver - Oh, How The time Slips Away

There was grey in my hair, when we met. br Young men or nor men -no longer catch br Their breath when passing. br Yet by happenstance we meet. br Laying bare heart and soul, br You seem to betray both. br I, being fully dressed in personal br Accomplishments, and I having br Been ill and frazzled by a disease br Had only love to ease. br br And you “love “ quarreled br With me days and nights… br Monopolized my days and br Nightmares my nights; br Time and space defeated both. br br I continue loving kindly and softly, br Even as a hail of words of your late wife’s br Feats troubled my heart to beat. br Favoring another can render me br Classless and defeated. br [but I create my br Class and am not easy to defeat! ] br br Enough, enough, enough: br br “Come forth words” br I’m poetess enough to call muse: br Take my heart, break br It into small pieces, and br Cast them to the wind. br Bit by bit they crystallize br Shaped like a star br I’ll order to shine br Wherever you are. br I fret, tears fall br Now, you make sweet! br Your flower, and br Your angel when I die. br Love needs to be with you br Will you be with love? br br Things seem to slip br Through hands and br Blend with winds. br When love comes br Try holding on….
