Janice Windle - (Stuff and Nonsense) Cautionary Tale: The story of Lizzie who gave up Dieting and found Love

A lady way beyond her prime br used all her energy and time br attempting to conceal her age br by dieting and subterfuge. br br Her Friends said, ”Dear, you’re an example br to us all, with busts too ample! ” br and Lizzie (for that was her name) br enjoyed their flattery – but just the same br she could not find a loving mate - br the answer lay in what she ate br (which was, I fear to say, not much: br meals with her were always such br a sad occasion – Liz would blanch br at offers of a decent lunch.) br br One day Miss Lizzie met a man br as round as Punch, who laughed and sang br and swept her off her tiny feet br and cooked, and made her want to eat. br br And now Liz is so round and jolly br she looks back at her past as folly br for surely it’s a better thing br to eat and love, not dieting! br br Moral: Food is the food of love.
